Game set for the family

I bought a Game set which including Checkers, Chinese Checkers, Chess, Backgammon and many other games for 10 bucks at Walgreen today. Eric has being teaching Ethan how to play Checkers online last few days. Ethan already has grasped some concept about this game but he is still not very skillful yet to play with others online. So, I decided to buy this game set and he can play with either one of us.

I think that is a good family game spending time together instead of letting the kids play the playstation or gameboy or DS.... some sort of technology things. I have noticed a lot of small kids as young as PreK holding a playstation game on hand while walking out the classroom. Their head is down and the little hands are moving around the game. They are totally indulge themselves in the technology product. I am not bias towards the technology, but just too much will affect their creativity and thinking process.

While playing the game with Ethan, I can have a good conversation with him and at the same time teaching him the technique in playing the game which encourage him to think more before moving next step. I like to see him sitting calmly and make his thinking instead of running around the house like a crazy crab.
